bb carriers & tutorials
The use of a baby carrier is essential. They are a great tool for bonding, calming a fussy baby, and hands free contact naps. Carriers allow you to move around and feel a bit more flexible and confident to do two things at once. Different carriers take a little bit of practice and there is definitely a learning curve, but once you get it down it is totally worth it. There are a few pros and cons of each carrier, I recommend having both a soft and structured carrier if possible.
The soft wrap or sling carriers allow for customization that fit you and your baby. They are a good option for going on a walk or a quick errand and are easy to store. The con of this style carrier is they require a bit of practice to put on, and they shouldn’t be used for more vigorous activities.
The more structured carriers offer versatility with carrying options. They are more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time and can feel more stable than a soft carrier. The downside is they are quite bulky so its not easy to pack into a diaper bag. They also may need an insert for newborn/infant size.
Below are a few tutorials of different style carriers- brands may have slight modifications, specifically with the more structured carriers but tend to be pretty straight forward.
A good carrier is well worth the investment and patience!
